Middlesbrough College Graduate Secures Prestigious Apprenticeship with Applied Integration
Applied Integration, a leading robotics and software company, has offered a coveted apprenticeship to a recent graduate from Middlesbrough College.
Background
Fin Duffy, a recent graduate of Middlesbrough College’s T-Level Digital Production Design & Development course, has landed a highly competitive Level 4 apprenticeship with Applied Integration, an industry leader in robotics and software solutions. This achievement is a strong testament to the value of T Levels, which provide young people with the skills and hands-on experience needed to excel in today’s competitive job market.
Fin’s journey highlights the impact of education, the dedication of committed educators, and the real-world opportunities available through T-Level qualifications.
Reflecting on his success, Fin shared, “The work placement part of the T-Level course was invaluable. It gave me practical experience that I wouldn’t have been able to get in a classroom setting alone, and that experience was key to securing this incredible apprenticeship.”
T Levels, developed in collaboration with employers, are designed to equip students with both the practical and theoretical knowledge necessary for success in their chosen industries. The 45-day work placement included in each T Level program provides students with a chance to apply their learning in a professional environment while also building crucial industry connections.
Despite facing challenges early on in his academic career, Fin’s determination, combined with the support of his exceptional tutors, allowed him to achieve GCSEs in Maths and English and a solid foundation in Computer Science. This set the stage for his impressive success in securing an apprenticeship at Applied Integration.
“Fin’s perseverance and commitment to excellence allowed him to overcome the challenges in his academic path. His remarkable performance in the T-Level assessments demonstrated his exceptional programming skills and potential. His success has created a strong foundation for a promising future in technology,” said Samantha Smethurst, College Tutor at Middlesbrough College.
Fin added, “I highly recommend the T-Level Digital Production Design & Development program. It offers a fantastic foundation for anyone aiming to pursue a career in software development.”
Fin’s story highlights how T Levels are preparing young people for a bright future in the fast-evolving technology sector.
